Bourne Grammar School

We are now an Academy

Bourne Grammar School has completed its conversion to Academy Status and it opened as an Academy on 1 January 2012. The School's new status means that it joins the overwhelming majority of the country's most successful grammar schools and the other mainstream schools in Bourne, all of which have converted.

At a challenging time for all state-funded schools the Governors are confident that, as an academy, Bourne Grammar School is now in a strong position. Our prominent success over many years is in no small part due to the strength of our governance - strength which gives the governors confidence to take on the additional challenges that fall to them as academy trustees and company directors. Now fully in control of our own destiny, we feel confident to take on, to embrace and to surmount the challenges ahead, remaining as determined as before to ensure and to strengthen our position as one of the top-performing schools in the east of England.
