Bourne Grammar School

Rotary Youth Speaks Competition

On 4 December two teams from Bourne Grammar took part in a public speaking competition organised by the Bourne Rotary Club.

Report by Grace Burrows (Year 8)

On 4 December two teams from Bourne Grammar took part in a public speaking competition organised by the Bourne Rotary Club. Our two teams had to speak in front of the judges about their chosen topic. The topics chosen were ‘circus animal cruelty’ and ‘the importance of reading as a child’. Both teams gave a spectacular performance, doing our School proud!

The team from Bourne Grammar speaking about animals won, closely followed by our other team in second place. Also three of our six team members won best individual prizes. We all felt proud to represent BGS and all thought that it was a fantastic experience and wonderful opportunity. We are all happy to say we earned our names on the Rotary Youth Speaks winning plaque. Both teams will also be progressing to the next round, hoping to have another great outcome!
