Chess at BGS

Our chess team has qualified for the National Finals of the British Senior Team Chess Challenge. This is an excellent achievement and a first for the School.
There are typically 18 teams competing in each regional competition, with only 20 teams from across the country progressing to the national final, which underlines the scale of this achievement.
Congratulations go to all involved, including Mr Farrow, who provides so many opportunities for our students to engage with chess. I wish Ben Bennett (13E), Cayden Mackay (10E), Tamsin Bates (10H) and Aanjishnu Bhattacharyya (10C) all the very best as they prepare for the final.
