England Athletics - Lawson Capes, Year 12
We are delighted to share the fantastic news that Lawson Capes has been selected for the third time to represent England as part of the England Athletics team.
Lawson will travel to Växjö, Sweden in February. This year brings an extra honour: Lawson has been asked to serve as Team Captain, a role he accepted with characteristic humility.
Lawson will compete in the shot put and discus in the Under-20 age group, showcasing his continued dedication and exceptional talent.
On top of this, Lawson is also working towards earning his first Great Britain vest for the Loughborough International, where he hopes to represent the Junior GB Team (U20). To qualify, athletes must be ranked No. 1 nationally in their new age category - and Lawson is currently sitting at the top after an outstanding 17.00m throw with the new 6kg shot at Loughborough last weekend.
