Bourne Grammar School Celebrates National Sporting Success

We are thrilled to share some exciting news and extend our heartfelt congratulations to one of our own — Ms Bowtell, PE teacher at Bourne Grammar School — who recently achieved remarkable success on the national stage.

Ms Bowtell was selected to represent the East Women's Over 55s Team at the England Hockey Area Masters 2025, a prestigious competition that brings together the top regional teams from across the country. Held at Ben Rhydding Hockey Club last weekend, the event showcased the very best of masters-level field hockey, with fierce competition between elite athletes from every corner of England.

Not only did Ms Bowtell represent the East with pride, but her team went on to win the entire tournament, overcoming strong sides including the Midlands, London, and Yorkshire & North East Women's Over 55s teams.

This national victory is a testament to Ms Bowtell’s dedication, athleticism and commitment to the sport — qualities she brings to her teaching every day here at Bourne Grammar School. We are incredibly proud to have such an inspiring role model on our staff, demonstrating to students that passion and perseverance in sport can lead to great success.

Please join us in congratulating Ms Bowtell on this fantastic achievement!
