On Saturday 14 March we had 5 students compete in the English Schools Cross Country Championships. This year the event took place at Sefton Park in Liverpool. The students have worked hard to reach this national level of competition having qualified through either the Anglian or County championships earlier in the cross-country calendar.
On Wednesday, our teams headed to a sun-soaked Boston for the U13 Girls Superzone Futsal Tournament - joining ten other schools in what proved to be a thrilling day of fast-paced action and standout performances. We were the only school bold enough to enter two teams… and wow, did they deliver!
This term saw the return of the highly competitive House Maths Challenge. Every student in every Form in Years 7 – 11 took part.
Towards the end of the last term, a group of Year 13 English Language students headed to London to learn more about what they had been studying on the course, visiting important linguistic sites.
On Friday 6 February, the Year 12 Geography students visited London to broaden our understanding of our Migration and Changing Places, Making Spaces Topics.
Four teams set out to Lincoln to compete in the U16 and U14 Boys and Girls County Badminton Tournament. The winners of this event will then compete in Nottingham in a regional tournament against the best school in the Midlands. The tournament requires players to compete in doubles and singles events of various combinations and so consistency in quality is essential.
Abington Park, Northampton, was the venue for the Anglian cross-country championships last Saturday and with 21 students in attendance for the event, we had students in all eight different age groups and were arguably the school with the largest contingent of any Lincolnshire school.
Zahra Ravji - Year 11. On Friday 30th January, a group of Year 11 students left in the morning for a trip to Cambridge University to learn more about university life, as well as the pathways and obstacles involved in getting there.
Huge congratulations to Jess who recently completed her DofE Gold Award. This amazing achievement has demanded commitment and determination over the last 12+ months as Jess participated in new activities and developed old skills too.
