Welcome from the Head Students

As the 2025/26 Head Student Team, we would like to give you a warm welcome to Bourne Grammar School’s website and introduce ourselves to you as the Head Student body.

Being BGS students, we strive to live out the values that define our school community. We aim to be honest, resilient and kind; we value being safe, respectful and prepared; and as learners, we aspire to be ambitious, determined and inquisitive. These values are at the heart of the positive atmosphere we are so proud of at BGS.

While writing this, we couldn’t help but reflect on the role models that inspired us to take on these positions, and our biggest goal is to drive positive change in the school community.

To us, this means that we get involved! We are friendly faces that you can always see around - whether we’re present at schoolwide events such as Open Evenings or in-school commitments like choir, debate and sports; we like to take responsibility and we are determined to contribute to the school atmosphere.

Our Head Student duties include managing Senior Prefect Committees centred around different aspects of school life, such as Equality and Diversity, Mental Health, the Environment, and Activities and Outreach. A key aspect of our role is leading the fortnightly Student Council meetings with representatives from younger years to ensure student voices are heard. We endeavour to empower students and provide them with opportunities to excel.

Above all, we want to give back to the school that has given so much to us, helping current and future students to thrive.
