DofE – Gold Award Celebration Event – Buckingham Palace

Earlier this week, 5 current Year 13 students – Jonathan Blair, Flo Dexter, Freya Fairhead-Abrahams, Atte Maaranen, Oliver Trumble and a number of past students including Jack Ray, attended their Gold Award Celebration Day at Buckingham Palace.

The day coincided with the 70th Anniversary of the DofE Award Scheme and I was also invited to join the celebrations. We enjoyed walking around the gardens, listening to various speeches from Kate Garraway, Sam Thompson and Gareth Malone to name a few, and of course tea and cake! The students also had the chance to chat to the Duke of Edinburgh himself.

A fitting way to celebrate the achievements of these young people who have worked hard to earn their Gold Awards. Well done to all who have completed DofE Awards this year!
