Leicester Observatory

Written by Zack Browne, Year 10
On the 3rd of December, the Astronomy GCSE students went on a trip to the Leicester Observatory to make different observations.
They saw Neptune, Saturn, the Moon and a binary star system. They were led through this by two University of Leicester PhD students, who answered any and all questions posed by the group.
The students also looked at different rock formations and meteorites, some ranging to billions of years old.
Overall, the students had a great time and were very interested in all observations that were made, and thoroughly enjoyed the trip.
